Modified fountain, variable size

L’artiste a hacké le réseau wifi de l’école Normale Supérieure de Paris (ENS) et a détourné le système d’alimentation de la fontaine de la cour intérieure. Il peut ainsi modifier la hauteur du jet d’eau proportionnellement au débit des données émises. Avec Streams le bassin historique devient un instrument de mesure permettant au public de visualiser en direct la quantité d’informations transmises par l’École Normale sur Internet.

The artist hacked the wifi network of the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Paris (ENS) and hijacked the power system of the fountain in the courtyard. He can thus modify the height of the water jet in proportion to the flow of the emitted data. With Streams, the historical basin becomes a measuring instrument allowing the public to visualize live the amount of information transmitted by the École Normale on the Internet.
